Read a lot about these parts before heading into Outback Queensland.
Adavale didn't disappoint. We had a beer & the kids had an ice cream in the pub served by the publican (Margaret) who was very pleasant company & up for a chat. She explained some of history around the area & answered any questions we had. Apparently the
Adavale Pub was voted "Best Outback Queensland Hotel" in 2012 & I can see why. Not much to the place in all honesty but it reeks of nostalgia & character. Certainly worth the drive from
Quilpie.
