Hi all
Can't see this in the threads, so want to know if anyone has mounted an Endless Air compressor to the SD33T engine? I have been given a compressor, and would like some idea how it can be mounted before I got stuck into it. No point making all my own mistakes!
Cheers
John

John
I have an Endless Air on my 4.2 Troopy.
Without custom mods it can only be fitted in one are at the bottom of the engine and comes with a bracket kit to do so. I personally found this unsatifactory for a number of reasons, mainly due to 'extremely robust' off roiad driving which caused the front end of the vehicle to bottom out, in turn causing the compressor to hit the front diff a tad. This is a problem unique to this type of vehicle.
To ovecome this I re mounted the compressor at the top of the engine with custom made brackets, twin drive belt pulley and custom mod to Bonnet. Works sensationally.
In view of the above, if I were you, I would give John at Endless a call and see if he has a bracket kit for your vehicle, if not, its a matter for your imagination and ingenuity to solve. On your vehicle it should be easy as.
regards
DD

Gday
I understand there is nothing to drive your compressor at the moment .

and a whole bunch of 'mulled wine' withdrawls to you to.
RACV Total Care just trucked the mother to the workshop for the official diagnosis.
Wonder if the Endless Air was the cause of the 'catastrophic failure'. (LOL)

Jiarna,
"No point making all my own mistakes." Your right there mate, a lot easier to learn by someone elses.
I have never fitted an air con compressor (Endless Air) to a Nissan but I have fitted one to an old diesel Troopy and am in the process of doing that to a HJ75 with a later 1HDJ-FT engine.
It is a lot easier if there is enough room beside the standard air con compressor and one of the compressors has a 2 belt pulley or better still if no air con fitted. I am in the process of fabricating my own mounts to fit the EA compressor which has a 2 belt pulley in place of the original and driving the air con one off that.
Sorry to sound a bit vague but without seeing under the bonnet of the vehicle in question and the pulley setup it's a bit hard. Someone who has done that particular model may be better able to be a bit more specific.
Good luck with the job, if you have ever used one to pump up tyres you will know how far ahead of most 12v compressors they are.
Cheers
