Review: Mareeba Rodeo Grounds - QLD

We are from Adelaide wandering the East Coast of Australia and have been for the past thirteen months and friends had suggested that we would find Mareeba cheaper and friendlier than Cairns so we booked for a week in early June and it wasn't long before we extended our booking for another week and then another. We found the people who stop at the Mareeba Rodeo grounds the friendliest we have encountered throughout Australia. We found the venues to visit both interesting and different and no matter were we went site seeing we would run into one or two groups of people who were still at Mareeba or had been there recently. The facilities are more than acceptable, the volunteers the most helpful, the grounds well maintained and the happy hours extremely well attended. We had a hard time deciding to leave and only did because the immediate six caravans around us decided they had places to go.
