its pretty steep and there is one or two pretty tight switch backs i had to do a three point turn in my 75 series troopy to get around one of them, traction wise you would be ok we did it in the troopy with a 2 inch lift open diffs and toyo A/ts it was a great drive a bit rutted and rocky but we had lots of fun on the way over to licola.

It may be possible, but there would also be a fair chance that it could end up in tears!

Save yourself some grief and leave the trailer in a base camp somewhere.
In my view, towing in the High Country is a headache everyone can do without.

Yep its a big ask allright. You only have to meet a couple of vehicles coming down and then what?

Yes...you could tow a camper up Billy Goats Bluff....as long as your tow vehicle had a set of crawler tracks on it...and you could reverse it quickly in tight spots.

Cheers Keith

Yes mate, I'm just back from doing this track & a few others. I found this track not that difficult but later broke my Treg Hitch on Dingo Hill. I think it comes down to the strength of your trailer & driver experience. I have lockers & couldn't of don't it with out them.
If I could put a pic up I would.

Jeff if the offroad trailer is the poptop in your profile pic then no I wouldn't suggest towing it up there. 1.6 tonne is certainly at the top end to tow around the High Country even with a capable vehicle. I know of quite a few towing campers up Billy Goat in the past so it is certainly possible but it puts alot of stress on the car & cuts the tyres up a bit too.
Being such a long haul many cars have overheating issues on the climb & the loose rock ledges can be challenging particually when wet. Passing opportunities in several narrow spots may also require backing up, a fun job with a trailer who's electric brakes don't hold very well in reverse.
Possible...Yes
Advisable ...No
Plenty of central base camp sites from which to day trip without the worry, inconvienience & restriction of towing on steep hills.
