Hello members, I'm quite new to this so here goes. We are looking to purchase a Coromal Pioneer Silhouette caravan and want to know of any feedback from other members. Items such as quality of build, weather proof quality and strength of
suspension and chassis, to handle off roading, are of particular interest.
Thanks
Supa D.

Hi Supa
We owned a PS421 for 7 years. Recently sold. One of the greatest things I every bought. We had great family holidays in it. Easy to tow, roomy and comfortable.
I found it strong and capable. Yes, we'll built.
Suspension was very good, we did do a few corrugated roads with no issues.
Always held up
well in the weather. Never leaked. Prone to condensation was a complaint. Even with windows open all night (damp nights only).
Would I consider it an off-road van? Not really. Why? It is heavy(ish). Ground clearance is poor. You would need more stone protection for longer trips. Not capable for crossing
water above half wheel height.
But, we loved it. Have traded (up) to a more off-road capable van now that the family is older.
Hope this helps.
Gary

We had a PS391.
The canvas work was very good, however the bedding used to get damp around the windows if it rained and you didn't have aftermarket flys fitted. We fitted the flys and never had another problem.
Check the fibreglass for fine cracks, particularly around the locking catches for the roof.
Ours used to make groaning and bumping noises on tracks, and although it was disconcerting I could never find what the cause was.
I tend to agree with the other poster about ground clearance.
We were reasonably happy with ours.

Hi Supa
We had a Silhouette for two years and dragged it accross to Qld on the first trip and then through to the
kimberley and NT the next year.
It handled the pretty rough going through
Newman to
Marble Bar via
Nullagine no probs at all - fairly rugged construction and very weather proof.
We only swapped to a full van after a couple of years because we spent more time 'traveling' than '
camping' and every day it was an effort to set up and pack up.
The Silhouette is perfect for going bush and setting up for a few days at a time.
Solid build, strength inside and out.
Good luck
Regards - Phil
