Sand Ladder

Had my sand ladders (waffle boards) for 4 month now, never been off the roof, until yesterday. A 60 series was down to the axles
Put them under his back tyres and he reversed out first time. Sooo happy with them, and @ $75 the pair, I don’t feel ripped off.

Sorry for the delay, one of the guys bought a sheet and cut it up with a angle grinder, hence the cheap price, I see they sell on ebay in the UK for around 45 pounds to hard to ship though, when I first checked them out over here I was quoted just under $300, funny what the lack of competition can do. Worked well though

I'm thinking about buying a sheet of the glass reinforced plastic floor grating and cutting it up to make recovery tracks. The full sheet is around $465 so it's significantly cheaper than buying the plastic ones and a lot stronger.

Would 1 metre by 300 mm be about the right size?

If so I can get 5 pairs out of a sheet and sell the left over sets on eBay.

Thanks for the reply.

The supplier has two types of grating. Can you let me know which type that you purchased to cut up? If you let me know the thickness, hole size and bar size will let me work out which type you have used.

Thanks

Brad

Thanks for the information. If you can send photo's by email my private email address is in my profile. They would be good as I am interested in how they have been cut.

I have asked for pricing on the 38mm thick grating with the 40 mm holes. The sheet size is better - I could get it cut into 1200mm x 350mm. Slightly larger than the other sheet that I priced. ( it was 30mm thick with 20 mm holes and would have made 1 metre long x 290mm wide)

Either way I am going to have more than I need so I will either sell a few to mates or put them on eBay.

I also have a couple of sets, the good thing is that you can also use them as bridging ramps as they support the weight of the vehicle.
They also don't degrade in the sunlight, or melt if you happen to spin your wheels on them like my Max Trax did.

They certainly aren't $75 a pair

I have been emailing the company this morning and is between $140plus GST and $180 plus GST (getting two different people telling me two different things) plus upto $80 freight.

I was excited but not so much now
