I would like to connect an LGC-800W mobile phone (CDMA) to a laptop to download email. I have the cable but no software. Can anyone advise on what is required.

Jack,
I have exactly this setup. You don't need any software :) Just configure your COM port where you plug it in (Port 1 or 2) as a standard 14.4K model. The phone is smart enough than when the computer talks to is it converts itself to a modem. The simplest system I've ever used.

We have this model phone, where can I get the cable from, costs etc? I am using a Nokia 6210 in a car kit with external antenna and we are not very happy with its performance! Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Steve, thanks for your helpful reply. I expect then that prior to downloading ones email, the correct modem driver needs to be selected in Windows. Then by connecting via Outlook Express it will select the phone's 14.4K modem driver.
Thanks again

Thanks Jack. I only wanted the price of the cable, not the PHONE. I know, I know, the cost of accessories are horrendous and I won't be forking out that much money unless the cable is gold plated. Maybe I can find one second hand. The way costs are rising I might as
well lash out for the proper
HF radio. Thanks anyway. Cheers!
