Hi all,
Can someone who has a 100/105 series fitted with an electric brake controller please have a look at which colour wire it is hooked into on the brake pedal switch. Mine is into the white one and the controller won't work.
The instructions say to hook it to the cold wire of which I found two but they only juice up to 6v. There are about 7 wires on the switch.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

Hi Dave

I believe they are universal colour coded.

I have a Redarc EBHR (remote head) which is coded as follows:

Black - +12 volt supply
White - earth
Blue - brake (to trailer plug for trailer brakes)
Red - to brake light circuit

Hope this helps

Cheers

Modern electronically controlled engines have stop light switches which are dual systems.
Some of the wires are controlling electronic functions and the others are the stop light wires.

If you don't know what you are doing and probing around willy nilly, you might touch something which is sensitive electronically.

Try and locate the wire near the rear of your vehicle which goes to the stop light globes. It will run to the stop light switch plug and you may be able to ID it that way. Get ti wrong and you may let the smoke out of a vital electronic part like ECU.

Or alternatively, use a length of twin core from your trailer plug. Tap one into the stop light and use the other to return the brake current from the unit to the plug.

No worries. Saves a lot of stuffing around ..... and potentially expensive sparks.

Dave,

My P2 Controller is connected to the White (brown/green/white) wire at the brake pedal :)

Cheers Kev

Hi Kev,
It is hooked to the 3rd wire on the rhs of the connecter towards the front which appears to be white and has a white with red stripe next to it towards the rear of the vehicle and a pink wire on the other side towards the front.
