Went down to
Chambers Pillar early November 2012.
A beautiful drive down from
Alice Springs, especially the last 40km. Despite signs saying difficult
sand dune driving the last 5km, it was very managable.
We arrived around 4pm and had the campground and
the rock structures to ourselves. Sunset is beautiful and the campground is amazing. Gas BBQs, clean
toilets and very
well maintained.
there is little publicity for
chambers pillar given the other attention grabbing features in this area, but it as good if not better than them given the higher chance of being by yourself out there.
Well worth a look.
