I've just had a new(reconditioned) gearbox put into my 2000 Courier ute and it feels like Ive had an extra 50HP put into her. Im amazed by such a noticeable difference and surprised. Another thing noticed is how much cooler the transmission tunnel is now.
I didnt think a gearbox would have such an impact upon performance.

It's funny how we get used to how our vehicles operate when we drive them everyday.

You got me thinking about my poor old gearbox. It's been bolted in there for more than 435,000 kms, been through rivers, oceans, sand, mud, dust, bulldust, rocks, 100 degree bitumen, lugging about 3 tonne all over the place.

A reco on the gearbox will have to on the list.

Hoo roo,
Steve

Manual with 200k on it. Had not given me any problems apart from a noise in 3rd gear 10 days before it got stuck in 3rd gear. The gearbox people said it was completely destroyed inside. Goes like a sports car now
