Who's running 35" (315/75R16) tyres on the V8 70 Serices Land Cruiser (VDJ79R)?

What rims, suspension other modifications have you done?

Alex,

We run 315/75/R16 tyres on the recovery ute, their on 8" x 16" Black Trax rims fitted with tyre pressure monitors.

It's got OME nitrochargers all round with heavy duty load carrying coils on the front & leaves on the back, this raises the vehicle appox' 50mm.

The front wheels grab the rear inner front guards on compression when turning, we only use these wheels when going into the desert when doing recoveries, we run the standard alloys with 265/75/R16 tyres the rest of the time.

I don't think that you need to go larger than 285/75/R16 on this vehicle as it doesn't really need anything larger for "normal" use.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the info. I currently run 285's and considering larger for hard off road work.

Do you run the standard zero offset rims on both front and rear? Are you using spacers to align the rear to the front? On the rear i assume you don't have issues with tyres hitting chassis or exhaust?

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

We don't run spacers on the back & the larger tyres do rub slightly on the chassis & exhaust.

The black Trax are negative offset I think.

Hey Alex,

What's the purpose of having your vehicle up on some rocks as per your signature block?

Alex,

You need to get a picture of your car parked on the bitumen (dont pull off the road too far you may get bogged) next to some wildflowers to balance out your profile.

Alex, to fit in, you need to have your photo of your vehicle driving at 80 ks in the fast lane towing a van, but please, please, PLEASE make sure you have your vehicle 100% factory standard, just in case some wannabe representative from some obscure minority group take offense to whatever you are doing in, to, or have done to your OWN vehicle, because if they happen to see it, they will take it upon them selves to challenge you for no reason other than they have absolutely nothing else to do
