Some good images of the GVD

Cheers,
Val

Hi Val
I know of one member who is a member of the Friends of the
Great Victoria Desert, and that is Phil G. I know that he has spend a number of trips along
Googs Track and I believe he was out there again this year.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi Val,
There's a few FOGVD members who are on exploroz.
Here's our website:
http://home.vicnet.net.au/~fgvd/
Volunteer work that is done by "Friends groups" is
well supported by DEWNR (formerly DEH etc). There are many of these groups across SA - they cost little to belong and are full of like-minded people, most of whom enjoy learning about the environment and enjoy the opportunity to spend longer times in
the desert.
Someone like you would certainly enjoy the vegetation survey work in the GVD which is, after all, just a big botanical garden!
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil,
Thanks for that info, I'll have a good look at it. Friends groups certainly do some amazing work in many
places.
Just a pity that the years keep rolling on - the head and heart says one thing but the body disagrees!!
Cheers,
Val

As Phil says joining a Friends group is a great way to meet like minded people and experience some of the countries special
places.
We've belonged to both Friends of the Simpson and GVD since their inception back in the 80's and as a result made lifelong friends that we otherwise would never had met.
