I have a 1999 GXL Landcruiser with standard Toyota CD/Radio/Tape system.
I'm trying to install a Seimens car kit and need to know which wire on the rear of the radio is used to auto mute the radio when a call is received or made.
Any help please?

No guarantee this radio has a mute function but
check for a purple wire which is possibly terminated.
If found
test by grounding to earth. If this is ok car kit mute must provide the ground. If it shows positive volts you will have to use a relay to achieve same.
I have seen a relay used to cut power (acc) to radio but don,t do this to the permanent supply as you will end up jamming the cd /tape functions or set off security code.
Hope this helps
