Part of the "Outback Way", the Great Central Road is the main thoroughfare through Central Australia and links WA to NT. It is widely used by buses, trucks, 4WD and occasionally 2WD vehicles.

Gday all, Anyone been on the GCR in the last week or so, got a mate who's travelling from Perth to Alice Springs driving a Great Wall 4wd ute and is worried about road conditions ie corrigations etc. I know its been recently graded from the rock to Docker River but have no reports from the WA side.

They had 26mm of rain at warburton one day last week and another 15 in the last couple of days with maybe a bit more to come. corrugations might not be his main worry!

It's been pretty hot out that way but they're expecting a cooler change over the weekend.
