Just got back from 2 weeks at Port Macquarie, Sundowner is a great
park, right next to the ocean & the city, great walks, clubs nearby & the
park is quite big & reasonably shady. It's a big 4
park.
BUT, the lack of security is of concern, many areas of the
park are unfenced & there did not appear to be any security walking around, but there were certainly plenty of locals walking through, there were some reports of theft & property damage, all minor but annoying.
I would probably go back, but would like to see the area much more secured, to do so.

I haven't stayed at that
park but I have seen it and noticed how open it is and how many people walk through. I would certainly be locking things up. A bit harder if you are
camping with a tent.

We generally stay at Jordans Boating Center & Holiday
Park - it's on the river just past Settlement City shopping centre. It is not fenced in but being a the end of a no through road no one ventures out there. It's an OzParks
park, so much better value if you don't have brats with you.

Would have to agree about Jordan's. Excellent people the one time we stayed. Fairly small but more personal.

We stayed there once. Great I thought right on the
water. Then all night yobbos walked right by our van. Drinking, talking loudly. I realized the smart ones put their vans further away from the
water. Live and learn.
