Are there any travellers out their that take their hobby with them?
We are heading off on a long term trip, I want to take my sewing machine with metro complete a few patchwork quilt tops, does anyone have any tips of travelling with a machine and what equipment did you find you needed. I will position the machine in the car rather than the caravan.

Hi. My brother and sister in law live and travel full time in their 24ft van. She has her sewing machine in the van, loves doing patchwork and associated stuff and is often the centre of attention when camped up. We were out at Illabo earlier this year and out of 400 odd people out there for the music festival there must have been more than 20 ladies that commented on how they were into it but never thought to bring their equipment with them. Cheers,Bob.

Bob!
Im fascinated to know how Illabo can take 400 people for a music festival!! There's not much of a
population to organise something like that!
My parents lived there in the mid 60s when there was a
population of 32. I visited in the mid 80s and it wasn't much different!
Please tell more-I know my elderly father would be very surprised to hear more about it...

Hi Robyn? They have a commitee whose members mainly come from the surrounding towns, Bethungra, Coota,
Junee, Temora etc. This year was their 25th Music festival. It is held at the old Showground and they get roughly 200 vans and campers come in. There may be more than 400 people attend but it is the best festival we have been to. The commitee work their bums off for four days and they even have some of their kids return home from WA just to help out. There is a Poets breakfast on the Sunday morning and the rest of the days are filled with talented people of all ages singing Country Music. The festival is usually on the second weekend of April each year. Some photos from last year. Cheers,Bob.

Wow! Thanks for your reply-small towns are certainly experts at uniting and working hard. Look forward to showing the pics to dear ol' dad.
Thanks again
