An App called 'bitmap' will read most Ozi maps. It has trouble with newer ozf3 map types though.

Hi

Apparently Bit Map has been (or is being) superceded by Maps-n-Trax

Cheers

I found bitmap very average to useless.

I updraded to a android phone, Ozi works a treat on that, but I still dont have anything for the iPhone, Mudmap is excellent but at almost $150.00 ridiculously expensive

If you are looking for an alternative, Memory Map is fantastic. I use that on Android, my Pc and when I borrow the kids IPAD. Same maps for all. It is also the same program as HEMA maps ( but cheaper)

I found some of the maps for Mud Map so bad that they are dangerous for the High Country. Roads that exist aren't shown, roads that don't exist are, and town names are incorrect.

I agree 100% with Boobook. Mudmap can't even find Thredbo, if I could get a refund I would. For cross plarform run on all the main devices with nice maps, Memory Map wins hands down for me.

Hi

There is currently no ipad/iphone version of OziExplorer. Apparently one is being worked on though no release date as yet - OziExplorer - Development updates.

As suggested above there are other gps mapping programs available. I would recommendTwoNav as a viable option (similar to OziExplorer in many repsects) but there a probably several others - some free, some not.

Cheers

I have used Ozi on PC and Windows CE( unlocked Navman S50) with Hema maps, for many years. I have been waiting for Ozi for iPhone. It seems to me that Ozi have lost the plot, there have been no updates on any product for quite while. Each time I contact them they can give no idea of when IPhone app will be out.

Not sure that rates as "losing the plot". With repect to existing products what "update" do you need (i.e bug fix/new function)? I use Ozi PC often and its fine. Not aware of any significant issues.

Its a relatively small business - suspect they havent lost the plot but are busy as bees in a honey pot. Good things come to those that wait.

I don't think they have lost the plot.

If you like the product then use their supported products.

PS: I suspect current apparent lack of activity (i.e new updates for existing poducts) by OziExplorer crew is because they are working on ipad/iphone app...but I could be worng.

ozi constantly update there products the ozi for android recently went to 1.18
main reason they dont have an apple app is the markets not there, apple is mostly used by brand slave teenagers along with thier nike shoes

theres no way kids will pay $25 for an app unless its marketed as ultra cool

thaty along with having to use the malware itunes to do anything and i cant believe people wonder why there is no ozi for apple let alone the huge phone and tiny screen

Hello

I think Kevin was probably basing his comment on OziExplorer (PC) which hasnt been updated for nearly a year. They have indeed been busy with Ozi for Android though its been at least a couple of months since V1.18 was released...but still hardly cause for complaint.

The Ozi website states "Development of the iPhone and iPad versions will accelerate when the Android version has been released as a beta as the iPhone version will share some of the same "c" code and algorithms" so at this stage we must assume they are working on a version of Ozi for Apple products - whether you like it or not. I think an Ipad/Ipad Mini version would be quiet popular.

Cheers

sorry its just frustrating to see so many posts from people that have got an iphone and then try and figure out how to run navigation on it when the most simple answer was to get an android phone.

I run a laptop with ozi, a navigator with ozi CE and a samsung s3 with ozi for android

i run the same maps for all just drag and drop

i see my mate struggle with his Iphone with no memory card, everything done through i tunes limiting free options like music and maps and movies

and i just ask myself

why?

Yeah - agree - iphone will never be the best option for running Ozi...but I suppose it may suit some people (when the option actually exists).

Hi

I suspect the OP already has an Iphone - hence the question. Many people receive a "free" phone as part of their plan so relative costs are actually irrelevant....having said that I have an Android phone (with Ozi works well) and prefer it over the wifes iPhone for a number of reasons (the wife isnt a teenager by the way). Still prefer the purpose built GPS (TwoNav Aventura) for "serious" stuff though.

Cheers
