Comment: Gibb River Road

Hi, We have hired an Apollo 4WD Adventurer Camper for the start of June 2013 from Perth to Darwin and intend to go via the GRR. A couple of queries that we have are, we are allowing 4 weeks to complete the trip, would this be enough? and because of the renter we will only be carrying only one spare tyre and no other vehicle spares at all, Is this practical for the GRR?
Thanks, Brett

G'day Brett&Carol,

you can do it in 4 weeks but it will be rushed, especially considering you're throwing in the GRR.

Some peple will spend on the GRR alone. Do you have to go from from Darwin to Perth, or is that what you'd lke to do.

Darwin to Broome in 4 weeks would be alright.

Hi again,

I was looking at something on Youtube and came across this video.

Not to scare you but this video might make you aware of some extras that will be beneficial to a safe trip.

We have our own well set up Landcruiser but we have considered hiring an Apollo Troopy for our next trip to The Kimberley. It would save us the two to three weeks we would spend travelling to the area and back. That's time we could spend hanging out up there.

Have fun,
Steve
