I'm off fishing in the
Lake Mulwala area in 9 days time. We plan to
camp either along the
lake or close by along the
Murray River for about 6 nights. Not being familar with the area, can any one who is, suggest suitable camping spots please. I believe you can
camp at Kieffen's Reserve (are there any facilities there?) and I'm aware of at least two caravan resorts, but would prefer to
camp. Thanks in anticipation.
Mike.

Hi Mike
Lots of great
places to
camp by the river drop into info centre or local pub and they will point in the right direction.
One thing to be aware of is the fishing licenses as part of the river is NSW and the other VIC. Whilst camping a few years ago in Jan we where fishing off the
bridge, a friend on one side us on the other, he had VIC license and had his rod in NSW waters only metres away and was fined big time.
Have fun beautiful place and will be getting busy too...

Hi
Forges pump beach No1 pit
toilet...beach No2 nothing .....beach3 the pick but no facilities.
Head west 5klm out of Yarrawonga towards Cobram on
Murray Valley Hwy turn right at Olive Plantation there is only a small (Forges bend)
sign so watch for the Olive trees
Road in and to all sites will take the biggest rigs a great place no time limits no rubbish
bins and only 5Klm to town with everything you need.
No road noise
well of hwy we spent a week there in late Oct plenty to do lots of birdlife and several ( I don't think it was the same one) large black snakes.
Hard to please if you go there and don't enjoy it.
Near Howlong west of Wodonga the police paddock is good but
camping area is small so may be filled up over the hols.
Hope this helps a bit msg if you think we may have some info that may help you.
Kevin
