A couple of weeks ago I bought the new Jayco Swift Outback.

The channel that holds the rope for the bag awning is 2.25m long with a few centemetres either end a little wider to start the rope threading on.

Awnings available are:
1.9m, with the fabric being 1.62m, and the bag length 1.96m

2.25m, with the fabric being 2.2m, and the bag length 2.36.

Obviously more which are longer

The first one would fit no worries.
The second is an extra 11cm, thus being 5.5cm longer either end for the bag.

Is this non support either end an issue with the use of the awning? I'm guessing when it is wound up for travelling the main pole should keep it stiff, but then would wind get under it and try to pull it out?

Trying to get as much awning as possible.

Anybody out there with a Swift, or similar size, know what size they have?
It's a five hour drive from here to the nearest place I can try one on.

While I can exchange if the size is wrong after ordering, it is a hassle with postage etc.

While your measuring. Any idea how long the telescopic legs extend to? Long enough for the outback version, which is higher than the onroad version? Last thing I want is the angle to be low enough for the top of the door to catch on, and rip.

Thanks

G'Day SDG,

We sell dozens of awnings to around Australia weekly and many of our customers own Jayco style pop-up camper trailers.

The trend lately is to scrap the bag awning style to go for a more robust Fiamma style awning. People are opting for a Fiamma awning for the ease of use and the ease of connecting a decent privacy room. The Fiamma awning will come out about 2m when it is fully extended and is very easy to install. You are welcome to call us on 1300 259 499 to discuss sizes so we get it right or for more information.

You can see the range at the link below:

Merry Christmas,
