I recently picked up a coleman dual fuel powerhouse lantern SH but it didn't have a globe.

I'm keen to use a mesh globe if you can get one the right size. It seems that they come on Small, Medium and Large - but when I tried a regular 'large' glass globe at my local camping store the other day, it was too small for the coleman dual fuel.

Any ideas on whether you can get an appropriately sized mesh globe for a coleman dual fuel 'powerhouse' twin mantle lantern? Where can I source one - pref delivered to my door.

Thanks, Tim

Thanks, went to BCF today and they had a glass one on the shelf, but not mesh. I picked up the glass, as finding the right sized mesh isn't looking good.

Hi Tim,

This is for a glass globe (you were after wire mesh, I understand) and the company is not in Australia, I know, but still might be worth checking out this site. If this isn't your specific model, maybe you might like to scan the entire site, to see if there's something closer to yours.

Coleman spare globe

If this doesn't work for you, there are many suppliers and fix-it options that I found through Google in only five minutes of searching and I'm sure you could do better than that. :-)

Regards,

Charlie

Thanks Charlie - yes I have searched extensively on the internet already - but havn't been able to find a mesh globe of the right size.

The best I did find was a guy that made his own with mesh from a frying 'splatter guard' from the $2 shop, and a stapler - but I was hoping for something fit for purpose.

I'm not sure that buying a globe from the US would be worth the risk, and postage would be probably make it not worthwhile anyway.

I would say you picked it up for a reason.

My advise is ditch it. They are fragile, bulky, touchy and put out the light of an angry glow worm. Get a decent LED light and save yourself a bunch of heart ache. You'll be able to see what's on your dinner plate too.

I forgot to mention that mesh screens drop the light output by about 40%. I went down that path some years ago and it does drop the light level considerably.
