Did anyone see the story about Champion Caravans in Victoria on A Current Affair tonight? Not good for the industry, but excellent PR for New Age Caravans.

Anything you see/hear on ACA or Today tonight should be taken with large piles of salt.
They have a history of putting their own slant on the truth in order to increase ratings or sell advertising.

Just my opinion, others are free to differ.

Disco.

ACA Today tonight dramatizes news, not report it.

They are like junk food in journalism, Having to much of them will kill you (or at least make you brain dead)

I group ACA and TT with Q&A. Mostly garbage with a very occasional gem.

It is good to be informed, then you can make up you own mind, armed with others factual experiences.

Whether you like ACA or not, it doesn't alter the fact that there were people who claim they paid a lot of money for something they haven't got...which stinks..

Hi all,
I have been reading this Forum with interest, as one of the couples in the incident are my parents. I would like to get a couple facts straight:

1. When the couples first came to Melbourne and they inspected the Tony's company , before placing a deposit.
2. The company that they inspected was not owned by Tony. The manufacturing company concealed this from my parents.
3. They paid progressive payments during the manufacture of the Caravans.
4. They were told to drive down, by Tony, as the vans were ready for pick up.
5. They went to pick the vans up and the manufacture said that Tony had not paid for the vans.
6. Tony then said come back on the Monday, as he had a problem with a bank transfer.
7. They went back on the Monday and he still had not paid.
8. My father a ex soldier (Vietnam), said "stuff you all" and he would not move from the van.
9. The two Vietnam Vets put up a fight for a month living in the vans waiting for the Police to drag them out.
10. We called in ACA as the Police will not help, as you need to go to court.
11. The Consumer Affairs are toothless.
12. My advice beware of both Tony and the Manufacturing Company, you can see the name manufacture on the ACA interview.
13. We still have not seen a cent returned to either couple and their are a lot more people out that have been ripped off.

Stay safe on the roads over the Xmas
