We are thinking about towing a 2t van to Lightning Ridge from Brisbane over the Christmas break.Tug is 08 TD Prado both van and car good condition.

Any suggestion for a mid way stop?

Bit concerned about the temps (high 30s) for towing.

thanks

Geoff, I am Brisbane based these days but originally from Moree, and lived there for the first 50 years of my life.

Brisbane-Moree is 5 hours normally by car, so I'd say about 7 1/2 with a Van.

Stay at the Gwydir Caravan Park, which is safe secure and has their own Hot Thermal Mineral Water Spa (whicb of course Moree is famous for).

The run out to the Ridge the next day, via Collarenabri, and then towards Walgett (turn off before you get here) is about 3 1/2 hours so say 5 with a Van.

Hope that helps, any other questions just ask, clearly having lved out that way for so long I know the place pretty well.

You do not state if you want bush camp or powered site
But if its a nice free camp you are after then its Nindigully Pub near St George
We always camp there when passing that way
