Hi
I am looking to buy a diesel ute for towing A Van at about 1 tonne and general use. There is a 2009 D22 MY2009 DX model available locally with 40 000k on it. I like the idea of a limited slip diff and it appears to have better fuel economy than the competitors ie hilux,
ranger and BT50, although less torque. I recently towed with a 2011 hilux 3 litre turbo diesel and was quite impressed with that. However they dont seem to have lsd, which i think is handy for bush tracks etc especially when towing. I dont want to go to 4wd because of the cost of buying and then upkeep/fuel. I currently have a 4wd that rarely gets used. My budget is about $20000. Opinions on the utes would be appreciated. What are their problems and are the fuel consumption figures for the D22 realistic (6.5 hway, 8.8 town).
Thanks Kc

I have considered that but people keep telling me it would be a bad move. Locally I can get a new diesel dual cab for about $23000. Power and torque figures look ok at Power 105kW @ 4000rpm Torque 310Nm @ 1800-2800rpm. Also a 6 speed manual! I am worried about how quickly they drop in value and quality issues.

KC the local great wall dealer is having heaps of troubles, and not getting much back up from great wall . Clancy motors are thinking of giving them the flick.
Cheers Pete
