Can anyone please recommend a supplier and installer of caravan hot
water service in the south eastern suburbs of
Melbourne ? Dandenong, Narre Warren, Cranbourne etc?
I'm thinking of a Suburban gas / electric unit, to be installed into a Paramount Duet caravan
Thanks
Glenn

Hi Glenn,
I think you are on the right track with the suburban as there have been several positive posts re that brand as opposed to the other brands on these pages.
Can't help with a suitable installer in your region sorry.
Cheers, Bruce.

For installation try ADP Caravan
Services in Kilsyth, or Hardings in Bayswater.

I chose the German Truma boiler (hot
water system) for our new van as they have a stainless steel
tank. This means you do not have to worry about the quality of
water used or having to replace the sacrificial diodes up to twice a year as in some other brands. So far ours is nearly a year old and has worked perfectly every time.
Very happy with it so far.
Cheers

I second that.
Previous van had the Truma. I did have to replace an element after 5 years but it was only $27.00
Got a suburban now, good unit but just checked the anode after 12 months use and it's shot.

We have a 8 year old Truma gas only in the OKA.
Probably been through 1,200 heating cycles, or more.
100% reliable, so far :-)
If/when it dies I will replace it with a diesel unit. Cheaper to run and provides air heating as
well.
Cheers,
Peter

I searched for ages for a plumber in
Melbourne who would do caravan work inc certification and gas. They were either very expensive or very busy, either way there only seems to be 3 - 4 of them.
If you want SE suburbs, go to Carac in Dandenong, they have a card of a caravan repair guy in Dandenong. However he wanted $800 for my job and 2 months wait.
Not exactly SE suburbs but I ended up using Ron Pels on the recommendation of Hardings caravan repairs, he does their work. He is in Kilsyth. Very reasonable and good job. He works from home for this kind of stuff. 0409400929. I think he charged me $350 for my job which was great.
