Hi all,
I have just been given the good news by my girlfriend that she has the days off work between boxing day and new years day. As we will already be in the
Dunsborough area for Xmas and boxing day with our families we were thinking of taking the opportunity to squeeze in a few days
camping somewhere between the 27th and 30th where we will be back in
Dunsborough to celebrate New Years Eve with friends and family.
Does anyone know of any spots between say Margaret River and
West Cape Howe that would be relatively uncrowded to spend a few days or am I dreaming?
Thanks and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to everyone on ExploreOz!

Yep, you're dreaming.
On past experiences, the likelihood of finding a space to
camp anywhere south of Bunbury round to
Albany is zip, zilch,zero.
If you are totally selfcontained you might be able to get a night here or there on overnight rest areas.
Just had a thought..
Fernhook Falls north of Walpole, nice spot but in Nat
Park so no animals. It may be worth a try. It's usually fairly quiet there even in summer.
Good Luck
Disco.

Thanks Disco,
Yep, familiar with Fernhook and Centre Road crossing a bit further up the road. Really bad March Flies this time of year down there though! We are totally self contained and was thinking of finding a patch of sand somewhere even around
Yeagarup beach. Have seen people
camping on
the beach there a fair bit and there's lots of it. Whether it's allowed or not is another story and there will likely be rangers around as
well. Might be easier just to kick back and hang around
Dunsborough, I just quickly tire of the zoo there over Xmas!

hi
mt frankland has a large
parking area or the river xing on beardmore rd just back to the west of mt frankland could be a chance
that you could likely stay in doubt any rangers would be on duty they most likely have their noses in the trough like every one else
but yeh your pushing the odds at such short notice take plenty of fly /mosy spay
cheers have a good one

Hi
For your info if you are talking about Brockman Sawpits the update states it is No
Camping, Day Use only.
Might explain why there was no one else there.
Regards
Rowdy

why dont you head further out, there are some fairly isolated beaches around the coast even as far as Bremer, it will be packed but some around it are quite at that time, or even around
Albany and west of it, still some nice quite
places left, just drive and find something, used to work for me, makes it rather exciting as you just never know what to expect ....... you guys are still very lucky over there, i have since moved to QLD and it is so "locked-up" that the fun is gone, at least over there most
places are still open......
