Good morning all
Can anybody give me the current situation on any
camp sites near Yarawonga (Vic/NSW)
Looking for a spot that can take 2 vans from next Sunday.
We originally thought of going to the Bright/Beechworth area but as the parks are more than we can afford figured all the
camp sites in that area would be full.
Stay safe and have a Merry Christmas
Regards

Hi yu Peter
There are various
camp sites on the banks of the Murray between Yarrawonga and Cobram, have a look at the Camps Bookie.
At this time of the year i would think the area would be quite busy though.
Cheers
Baz

Hi Peter,
There are lots of
reserves &
camp site along the Murray around that area, but at this time of year they are usually very crowded. I think half
Melbourne come up this way for Xmas New Year. The van parks are often booked twelve months in advance & the riverside
reserves cop the over flow. Upstream of Albury may be a bit less crowed but still very busy. Jingellic, Tintaldra
Khancoban, Geehi or
Tom Groggin may be an alternative.
Cheers & a Merry Christmas,

8km west of Yarawonga there is a turn to the right down to the river....It leads to the a couple of
free camping areas. If you keep to the right on the tracks going down to the river you will come to the Forges Bend
camping area - this site has a great beach and would be suitable for smaller caravans. There is no firewood in the area so you will need to bring your own. No facilities other that a long drop dunny. Might get busy this time of the year though.

Hi Pete
We live in a little area called Kergunyah - about 20 minutes from Yackandandah. You can
camp (
free camp) in the Kergunyah reserve which has access to the Kiewa River. There are quite a few campers down there at the moment but still a few sites. I admit to being very proud of the reserve as my husband has been regularly slashing it to keep the grass under control - looks fantastic. There is a long-drop
toilet - and a
shop about a 3 minute walk - but otherwise, just farms and cattle. A beautiful spot. Coming along the Kiewa Highway, travel past both the Yackandandah turnoffs. You will come to the small town of Kergunyah - turn left down the Kergunyah road and the
campsite is just to the left after the Bridge. We actually run
Sweetwater Stays Rural Retreat at Kergunyah - not your kettle of fish but we know the area quite
well. If you make it, give us a yell and we could catch up for a couple of drinks - Angela & Murray
