I have a cf80 and am having trouble cooling down. I have the dividers in and have it set at -8deg but it will only get to around -5 although it is running the whole time on 240v. (In the shade) pls help.

What is the ambient temp of the air in that situation??
Since most fridge/freezers can only cool to around 40 below ambient then you may be approaching that difference in performance.

Is it in a vehicle? Cos that will make it far worse and the thing will run 24hrs a day.
If in hot a area, buy a 12 computer fan, they draw very little current and it will positively supply good airflow to the fridge intake and to it's fan and compressor and the condenser.
This will improve the performance.
If you have it in a vehicle and in the back, and as many do, also in a slide drawer setup, then that is about as bad a situation you can get. The fridge continually recycles the hot air and this will destroy the cooling and heat dissipation so essential to good fridge performance.

Cover the fridge in a couple of sleeping bags or similar to give the case a bit more heat insulation but provide more airflow to the air on and out areas and make sure these are not restricted.

I use 12v comp fan/s sucking air via flex tube from window to the fridges Have two side by side. Insulated and aired, they run as a fridge and the other as a freezer. 40 and 32 litres. Fan/s run all day or night too if still hot.

Cheers

Of course the other possibility is that it is short on gas?

It may have sprung a leak somewhere?

Is the thing cycling on and off? or running full time?

Ambient is about 29-30deg and is in the back of my ute. I think I discovered the problem being that it was pushed up close against the tub liner and was struggling for air. I now have it under my awning and is working much easier.
