Hi all
heading home after christmas in
adelaide, going back to
perth on the third.
Just wondering on the alternative
routes back to
perth from the western side of balladonia?
I know there is a track through isralite bay and another that goes north of there to
Esperance.
We have a 4x4 Ford
Ranger and are pretty good offroad but dont really want to get stuck into anything too hairy.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

The Baladonia track is in ok condition and not too rough. You can go through to cape arid or take the parmango road through to fisheries road near condingup. There is restored building at
the junction of parmango and balladonia roads.
Also plenty to see along the way
Cheers

Towed a trailer with a tinny on board to Baladonia via Isralite Bay in 2006, so it could not have been too bad :-)

Steve,
We came east along the
Israelite bay track in late Oct this year towing a
Kimberley behind our L/C 80 diesel and while it is a bit rough it is a fairly easy drive especially as you would be going DOWN the rubber tracks on the escarpment sand track.
If you are not towing it would be a piece of cake but you will need to air down in a couple of spots so a pump is necessary. Enjoy the trip and don't worry, there are a few people around if you (or they) get in trouble.

Nice little cottage approx. halfway between Balladonia and Fisherman's Road called 'Deralinya' Good spot for overnight stop.
Has been 'adopted' by some
Esperance? locals who are slowly restoring it. Has long drop, fireplace, even a lounge suite and wire beds!
Don't forget to fill out the visitors book.

Hi Steve, we did the trek from espernace out to
Point Culver in March witrh three very heavily loaded vehicles and had no real problems, you should have no issues at all. We tried to do
the beach the whole way but goy 70mm of rain which closed nearly all roads and we ended up doing OTL only getting stick once. Just watch the beaches and tides if on your own. They are not too bad most of the time but if on my own, I'd be a bit weary as the swell can push the
water right up the dunes taking averything off
the beach. Ron & Vic Moon have a book that we used for planning which proved to be really usefull (I think its adventures guide across the Nullabour or something like that). Its definately worth the time to take a look.
