We're considering going camping for a few days just after new year. Looking for somewhere ideally south of Adelaide where we can maybe;

- do a bit of fishing
- do a bit of 4wd'ing
- get some dark skies for some night time activities
- see some local sights

Just the 2 of us, no kids anymore. Have thought about Robe & camping in Little Dip but the fishing isn't fantastic there from what I remember. Some good campsites with loos tho.

Don't want to head north - too hot this time of year. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Not restricted to SA either, but not too far interstate.

You could try the ocean beach at Salt Creek on the Coorong. Call the Shell road house at Salt Creek for track conditions and ask what's biting. Cheers Phil.

Thanks Phil. I;d like to avoid beach driving if possible as we'll be going by ourselves (as in 1 car). What would Beachport Cons. Park be like this time of the year?

I would recommend Kingston Se. It's about 40 K's before robe. In my humble opinion, it's a bit more quieter then Robe but still a very short drive there to go visit if you wanted too. Also there is fishing off the jetty or right off the beach. The caravan park is ok too. Nothing over the top too exciting but places are clean.

If you were going camping over the weekend of the 12th Jan there is a seafood and wine festival that is quite fun.

Thanks gordon-adel. Yes, we like quiet these days. Like to take in the natural surroundings as much as do the other things like fishing, etc. We planning on leaving on new year's day for probably 3 or 4 days max.
