Have seen people with small split systems on van, probably the cheapest and quietist way to go. some have cooling only as a small fan heater can be used in colder weather. Much quieter

Hi Keith and Cheryl.
I have seen a few pop top vans recently with the A/C unit mounted on the drawbar. Please don't instal a unit that fits into the side wall of the van. These pump noise and hot air directly into the van site next door. We have camped beside several of these and the noise is more than annoying.

Agree - a small domestic split system is the go, but make sure it is an inverter drive (almost all are now) and look for one that is a quiet as possible. Most of the modern brand name units are very good.
