Nhill to Murrayville

Does anyone know what the road from Nhill to Murrayville through Wyperfeld/Big Desert is like? I have 2 maps - one marks it as sealed the other marks it as unsealed.

It is basically a good dirt road, until it rains ..... Then it can get a bit ugly!

Thanks Shaker. Is there any sand dunes that way? Is it okay for camper trailers?

Plenty of sand on the tracks running off Murrayville Track . . . Milmed Rock Track, and Chinamans Track.
Near the junction of Chinamans, there is a challenge hill of sorts for those inclined on giving it a go.

Not sure about the state forest tracks further north, suspect these wiould be sandy, plus mud when wet in a lot of places.

But the main Murrayville Track is generally fine for an off road camper trailer, or even an on road one as long as you take it easy.

Like Shaker said, don't try it after good rain, as it can be a quagmire that even a good 4B will struggle with, let alone towing.

Thanks all.

We have done plenty of the surrounding tracks such as the Border Track (Renmark to Nhill), Snow Drift and surrounds in Wyperfeld and most of Murray Sunset. I am just keen to look at something a little less taxing in the area so will check it out. Certainly won't be doing it in the wet - getting stuck in mud is not my idea of fun.

Easy dirt road (unless it rains)

I went on that road 3 months ago in an 89 XF Falcon ute. Had a ball. You will have no worries with a 4wd and camper trailer.

Regards

Geoff
