Did you tried "Insert Images & Files" button? Though you have to have your pic hosted somewhere before doing that.

Hi, No need to have images "hosted" on net somewhere..when posting a new thread/reply/followup you can add photos that are on your PC very simply...

..You can't post anything on the forum unless you are "registered" or do you mean only "members"? Not sure if you need to be a member but as the OP is obviously registered and is also a member all should be sweet.

I upload the photo to photobucket.com and then use the "Insert Images a& Files" option. The link is the internet address of the photo at www.photobucket.com. You do not have to use photobucket. Use whatever internet site you wish. There is a nickname for this intermediate site that no doubt someone will mention. I use the same process to load photos onto Google Earth. They are then available when I am off line.

Surely there must be a straight forward method of doing this.
This is like driving to Darwin via Hobart. ( around the world in eighty days).
Thanks.

Very true.

However as we have bundles on the net to share with the family and our 4wd club via that site, we find this method is convenient for us. I think that we have used photobucket for about 5 years or more.

How do you do it Bushie?

Bushy,

As a member you can insert Photos directly from your PC to a Thread, you do not need to have an external web hosting site to do it.

Use the insert image & Files Icon

Select the "Add Photos and Files" box in the top left of the pop up box that opens.
Select your photo from where you have it on your PC, hit the "Open" icon then the "Insert" and the system will automatically resize the pic and insert it into your thread :)

Cheers Kev

Hi Kev,

I am interested in your reply above that you mention

"and the system will automatically resize the picture"

Is this a new feature? In the past I've always had to resize my own pics with VSO Image Resizer before inserting them, other wise it was a long wait for them to individually upload. If it is it will make the process much quicker.

Regards,

Mike.

Hi Michael John,

I think that the system may automatically resize them now but it makes for a slower upload. I couldnt be sure as I always resize my photos first, as I have a lot of photos up. Doing it that way they are quick to upload. BTW most photos editors (we use a freebie called XnView) have a batch resize facility that might assist you - dont use it myself but I know of others who swear by it.

Cheers,

Val

You don't need to use Photobucket.
Its very simple...just use the Insert Image tab in bottom box when posting
The click on Add Photos & Files
Select the directory/location of picture on your own computer
Click on OPEN
Follow prompts for title, description etc

Cheers
