gibb river road

what are my chances of having access to the gibb river road about mid april.2013. i realize it depends on the wet season,however,is there any likelyhood at all for mid april?thanks

check this link for some good info on the area.

In April you'd be limited to the access you can get to most parts. The roads cop a hiding in the wet and need to be repaired in some instances before they can be open.

There's plenty to see but you will not have access to most parts.

Hi Michael,

For the past 2 years the Gibb has had limited access right up to June.
This is due to the flood damage to the secondary tracks.
It would be a shame to travel all the way from QLD to be restricted to only a small area of the Gibb.
May I suggest early June before the school holidays as all areas are usually open and there is still good water flow.
