I notice when looking at my EOTrackme page that I have accumulated over 97,000 points. What are these for and are they worth anything?

This is the number of points that you have recorded in the EOTrackME log. Each point is a position report from your device. This seems like a lot for only a 600km route. Can you tell me what setting you have on the SETTINGS - UTRACKME - GPS - Distance Filter?
