After a fair bit of searching then fiddling around I have managed to make a backup copy of the Australian basemap from a Map 330 and transfer it to a Sportrak Color which I recently acquired (but which had the North American basemap installed). I have replaced the basemap on the Map 330 with part of the World wide basemap which I also recently acquired on CD from the US of A.
If anyone is the least bit interested I can furnish details on how it is done. Bob

Didn't they get threatened with legal action by Magellan if they didn't get it off the site

Truckster has been plenty of information there, but am not sure what all the fuss is about on basemaps. There is almost nothing to them. With the version 1.1 basemap for Magellan the geography is fantastic - Cairns well known tropical coastal city is placed west of Brisbane. Major highways are there but I am not sure of the other detail. The Great Ocean Road is scant on detail.

You really don't get decent mapping until you upload to the SD card available on Meridians or moving map.Regards

Tell you what is interesting .. I was winning a Magellan GPS on Ebay, check this out. Too bad if you try and sell your GPS on Ebay!

Dear EBAY BIDDER

The following listing:

3072438459 - Magellan Platinum AUS version

was removed by eBay because a member of our Verified Right Owner (VeRO) Programme notified eBay that the listing potentially infringes its copyright, trademark or other rights.

We strongly urge you not to complete this transaction.
edit -> (THEY ARE JOKING ARENT THEY!!! LOL!!)

You can get more information on the VeRO Program at:

http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/community/vero-program.html

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this issue.

Regards,

Plently of other Magellan transactions on ebay. Why should this one be different. Just shows ya that Magellan must be keeping their eye on ebay. Guess they're spewing about all the overseas transactions. BEAM ME UP SCOTTY
