Today is our last day in Darwin and we went for a drive to Nightcliff another coastal suburb. It was very low tide when we were there. It is amazing how big the tides are here.

We then drove on to Rapid Creek Beach.

Dripstone Cliffs was the next stop.

Today was Territory Day 1st July the day is marked by family-friendly events, concerts, markets, and fireworks displays, with the fireworks being a significant part of the celebrations. It's the only day of the year hen fireworks are legal to purchase and set off in the Northern Territory. People are able to set off their own fireworks between 6pm and 11pm (with restrictions). This of course goes on well beyond 11pm and it would seem with no restrictions at all, every open space, parkland, even the middle of the streets are used.

We made a booking at a seafood restaurant at the end of the pier on the waterfront as we thought it would be a good place to view the fireworks. Whilst they were happening on one side of us the one day past the full moon was rising on the other side showing off a beautiful red glow. It was a lovely setting to say farewell to Darwin and Happy Birthday to Kevin for tomorrow.
