Today we went to the local market which was near the Tourist Information Centre. It was a very small market however we chatted with the volunteer from the Men's Shed and heard what they are doing and how they are making small wooden boxes for the Katherine Savanna Glider Project to build and install artificial nesting boxes. This initiative provides vital shelter for the Top End's native gliders and possums, whose habitats are increasingly threatened by land clearing and fires.

We then made our way back to the Nitmiluk Gorge where we walked yesterday for our 1 1/2 hour gorge cruise with the opportunity to go onto land and see some rock art. We were booked to go on a 3 gorge 4hr tour however this was cancelled again due to the huge wet season and the damage etc that it did. It was disappointing however we are fortunate enough to have been on the 3 gorge cruise many years ago on our last visit to Katherine.
