Today we had a day in Katherine. We started at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre which was established in 2012. It was more of a mixed media collection of items with some artwork. The bird and jellyfish sculptures were made form recycled fishing line and there were a large collection of Shell Dolls, which were shells wrapped in dried grasses.

We then went to the Katherine Museum which is uniquely housed inside the former Old Katherine Aerodrome terminal building. Completed in 1945 by the Allied Works Council, this structure served as a vital passenger terminal and air radio building during World War II.

They had a lovely collection of the Pat Lawley Brown dresses all handmade with lace and embroidery.

Also an amazing four-generation showcase of Giles family wedding dresses.

There was a really strange washing machine. The Lightburn washing machine is a vintage, industrially designed twin-tub washer manufactured in Camden Park, South Australia, during the 1950s and 1960s. Famous for the company's background in concrete mixers, the fibreglass tub was often colloquially compared to a cement mixer.

We then found are way to Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre which was established in 2012. They had a very large collection of aboriginal artwork and didgeridoos.

In the afternoon we went to Katherine Hot Springs for a soak.
