Day 84 Lesmurdie Falls

Today we drove to Lesmurdie Falls where you get to see the waterfall as well as amazing views across to Perth City along with wildflowers. On the edge of the Darling Scarp they are the biggest waterfall in the Perth Hills.









We then drove The Zig Zag Scenic Drive is a one-way road down the western side of the Darling Ranges in Gooseberry Hill and part of the Beelu National Park. It’s a steep, almost-3km drive that winds down a very narrow road, one filled with plenty of hairpin turns and dynamic changes of scenery around every corner.

Originally a section of railway servicing Kalamunda and beyond, it now services your desire for incredible views of the Swan Coastal Plain, Perth city and its surrounds and wildflowers in late winter/spring.









We had lunch in Kalamunda and then drove into the city to go through The Perth Mint. The tour includes a fascinating live gold pour (of which they do one 7 times a day 7 days per week using the same gold each time), the world’s largest gold bullion coin.
