This podcast was born out of an adventurous spirit nurtured by a free-range upbringing and inspired by a thirst for exploration. Our journey began with thrilling
treks and minimalist camping trips with our father, shaping our perspective towards exploration, adventure, and business.
Our adventures weren't limited to land alone. The underwater world also beckoned us, and we answered by becoming scuba diving instructors. This experience added another layer of thrill and exhilaration to our journey. David's solo walk to Everest Base
Camp was another challenge that shaped his future. His courage and determination to undertake such a challenging journey solo did more than stoke the fire of adventure that has stuck with us.
However, our journey hasn't been all about adrenaline-pumping escapades. It also involved striking the right balance between our adventurous pursuits and business. After all, transforming a simple idea into a successful venture like ExplorOz didn't happen overnight. It required planning, skill acquisition, perseverance, and a willingness to adapt and evolve.
We travelled for two years without an income, a daring adventure in itself, to explore different lifestyles before embarking on the journey of ExplorOz. Despite our background in IT, we dared to venture into uncharted territories. We tried, we learned, and when necessary, we moved on. This approach has always been at the core of our journey.
The evolution of ExplorOz has been organic. We didn't have a clear-cut plan. Instead, we had an open mind, ready to embrace new experiences and ideas. Our journey has taught us the value of confidence in ourselves and the beauty of embarking on an adventure without knowing what lies ahead.
