New Article - Forced Induction for Diesels

Just published today, is the 2nd instalment to our popular new article series that looks at various diesel engine technical issues. Our new article discusses the application of forced induction to diesels - what it is and what it does. So if you want to get your teeth into the technicalities of the difference between Turbochargers and Surperchargers, or you're just not sure what difference it all makes, then click to read "Forced Induction for Diesels". About the only thing not mentioned here is Intercoolers - we're saving that for our next article in this series.

Canning Stock Route - News

Important news is now confirmed regarding traveller access and permits for the Canning Stock Route - effective immediately.

The public have access rights ONLY along the CSR. Lands adjacent to the CSR are owned under native-title by the Martu People and access is restricted. These areas include (and are not limited to): The Calvert Ranges, Durba Springs, and the wider Percival Lake area. Permission from the Martu People is required to access these areas.

So this means that you MUST contact Ngaanyatjarra Council (Aboriginal Corporation) to request permission to enter restricted country adjacent to the CSR - even for visiting popular CSR sites that up until this year did not require a permit. Phone (08) 9425 2000 to apply for your permit or for further information.

Trader

Trader items are now searchable in Site Search. This means that all content (ex Forum) including Places is available for searching in Site Search. We highly recommend the quickest and most effective way to find what you're looking for on our very large and comprehensive website is to use Site Search - look for it in the left hand margin.

Great Outback Clean Up

In an announcement just released today by the organising committee for the Great Outback Clean Up, this event has now been cancelled due to a lack of registrations to date not meeting a level that will allow for the event to make a significant impact on the amount of rubbish along the tracks that the event was to pass. May we take this opportunity to impose upon all of you that are undertaking trips this year to focus on an outback cleanup of your own.
