ExplorOz Newsletter - 307

Edition 307: 17th October 2013

Hi ExplorOz Reader,

We hope you enjoy this week's edition of our newsletter with all the latest information about what's happening on the website.

Trek Note Content Audit

We are currently going through an audit of all 176 Trek Notes on ExplorOz.com and seek your input regarding any observed errors.

Anyone that has used an ExplorOz Trek Note and found any variations to current track routing is encouraged to send us an email alerting us to the change. Sometimes tracks are re-routed around problematic hazards and whilst only minor, these changes can be updated in our treks if we are supplied with the GPS driving route file. Whilst travellers often supply new file amendments to us, we are making a concerted effort to ensure EVERY trek is revised at the same time to ensure the track data in EOTopo is the best available, so please don't leave this to someone else - your input is welcome!

We are also auditing all Places in Trek Notes. These are shown as waypoints, so use the Moving Map controls to see them. Our system will always show an image for every Place, falling back to a satellite image when there is no photograph. Ideally, we want photographs taken by travellers for each Place so please help by uploading photos if you can. We also encourage you to leave a rating/review for Places listed in Trek Notes – especially for the What to See, Where to Stay POIs.

Please check Trek Notes to see what tracks you've done.
