Edition 432: 6th May 2016

Hi ExplorOz Reader,

The ExplorOz Traveller App has made it to our final testing stages, and we're very excited to announce the launch will be within weeks! Like nothing else on the market, we've integrated the EOTopo, Treks, Places and EOTrackMe systems into an all in one navigation and tracking solution - and as a bonus there are even street and satellite mapping layers to give you a full view of where you are and where you're going. Not only will the app be fully supported by iOS & Android but you'll be able to use it offline, making this the perfect app for any traveller, wherever you may be.

Fully developed in-house by I.T. Beyond Pty Ltd - the owners/developers of, this app does everything you want it to do. Simple - Easy - Smart. Keep an eye on this space for our official launch announcement coming very soon!

If you're uploading photos to a Blog or Forum post that feature a particular location, a handy feature in our image uploader is to tag the photo to the place it was taken. This also duplicates the image to the relevant Places page. After you have selected and uploaded your image, simply click on the "Advanced" button, then start typing the name of the relevant place, a drop down menu will appear, and all you need to do is click on the place name to tag it to your photo. Click "Save" and repeat for any other required images.

Give this feature a try and go in the draw to win an Australian Seashores book valued at $59.95 in our Places Tagging Forum Competition.

Knowing what areas have access restrictions or require permits can be very challenging and time consuming. We have all the answers here in our Permits & Restrictions section of the ExplorOz Articles.

Our NT Permits page has just been updated, with all the latest facts about accessing Northern and Central Aboriginal Lands, Coburg and Gove Peninsulas, Parks & Reserves and more. We've updated pricing and links in many sections, plus checked facts with the local authorities. The good news is that it's now much easier to apply for most permits, with online facilities now the norm. Click here to view the NT Permits article.

Updates to other State/Territory pages will continue and be announced next week.
