Press Releases

Don't forget to keep an eye on the ExplorOz Press Release Centre - this is the place to find notices of new product releases, special events, limited offers, industry papers etc.

NB - The Press Release Centre can only be used by ExplorOz Advertisers or by ExplorOz administrators.

Road Conditions

ExplorOz utilises a wide resource-network to produce our uniquely indexed Road Condition reports and for the last 5 years have published this information via a very manual and not always perfect method for lack of any better system existing within the Transport system and our own restrictions of only having a small number of staff.

To resolve this, we have just produced a standardised- database system that will allow specified Officials to directly update the relevant section of the reports (interactive). The new system will also track all status change history for graphing and trend reporting in the future, which will prove an invaluable planning resource to both travellers and road transport officials.

We see this as a significant advancement in our data collection methods and wish to advise you that we are doing all we can to improve our efficiency in collaboration and publishing of these reports.

You will notice some slight changes with a new-look reporting output - although only WA and SA have currently been migrated. As you will see, each specified track/road name now shows a Last Change date, and a Last Updated date. As a future advancement to this system we will also be enabling Traveller Updates, as an extension to the information published by Officials. More about this later...

Click here to view the current road conditions (all reports manually updated yesterday).

Focus on Business

It's a good time of year to be thinking about tyres, so in this issue, we feature the "Tyres & Rims" category in our Business Search Directory where you'll find both manufacturers and local distributors. The ExplorOz Team has run all the well-known 4WD tyres on our vehicles, including the Coopers STs and Bridgestone 693s and 694s. If you're not sure what tyre best suits your needs then why not start your research by going to our Tyres Topic Search Index page, where we have pre-defined links to related Forum posts, Trader items and Articles. Plenty of information to get your teeth into!
