camping area is a popular base for relaxing and exploring the northern section of Kinglake National
Park.Its a very attractive green
camping area by the Island
Creek on the northern slopes of the Great Dividing Range. Dispersed sites around a circuit road. Good shade from tall stands of Peppermint, Alpine Ash (Woolybut) and Mountain Ash with a thick understory of wattle and sedges. Many birds, including wrens, rozellas and whip birds. Each winter, the campground is closed during the Victorian 3rd school term (dates vary).There are 18 campsites, with five suitable for camper vans and caravans. Each site is clearly defined and separated by native vegetation, featuring shared picnic tables and wood fireplaces.
