Gregory Downs Road is mostly gravel, except for a few sections of sealed road. The Thorntonia - Yelvertoft Road, is fully sealed and quite a good road. Not much traffic on it so little road damage. It is a good short cut from Mt Isa to
Lawn Hill.
There is
open space near the intersection that has signs of traveler occupation but there are no facilities. An excellent place to deflate or inflate tyres.
