Originally built in the early 1900's as a catchment area to supply
water for the steam trains that had now reached
Clare.
Water was pumped from here to the railway station more than 2
miles away and become known as the Railway Reservoir.
In 1965 the land was acquired and dedicated as Ohlmeyer
Park.
