Information

Small carpark and picnic table off side of road. Trail Classification: Class 5 Height: 783m, Distance to summit: 1.3km Allow 3 hours return.

The majority of this hike is extremely challenging and slow going so realistically allow 2+ hours for the return trip. The views and spring wildflowers make this hike well worth the effort however for the fit, experienced hiker.

The grade of incline is compounded by a layer of loose rubble for the majority of the ascent, which must also be descended (grabbing overhanging shrubbery for balance). Some of it will require hands and knees.

The rubble path reaches the base of the distinctive rocky cliff and from there there it is surprisingly easy and quick to reach the summit. At the top, you'll find someone has made a circular rock shelter and if you look carefully you'll find a pvc pipe that has the visitors book inside.
