Campsites by
dam with
toilets and fire pits, near Boondi rocky outcrop. Part of Goldfields
Woodlands National Park.
Small
campground near Boondi
Rock outcrop and
dam with eight vehicle-based sites, some of which cater for camper trailers and/or caravans.
Boondi is a handy low-key
campsite to use when en route to the four-wheel-drive
Holland Track or to
Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Boondi was one of numerous
rock catchments in the
Great Western Woodlands developed for railway water supplies in the days of steam engines. Eventually the advent of diesel locomotives and construction of a new line to the north saw an end to the days when steam trains rolled to a stop at Boondi to refill their water tanks. The water catchment system at Boondi consists of perimeter walls and
rock-lined channels that direct rainfall runoff into a
dam or storage reservoir. Please do not swim at Boondi
Rock Dam.
Bring your own drinking water and firewood. No dogs are permitted at the
campground. No entry or camping fees apply.
